Official Electoral Observation Mission of Salvadorans in the World in El Salvador’s Elections 2009:
The Mission will arrive on Friday, March 13th and will stay until March 16th.
Salvadorans in the World has reached an agreement with Social Initiative for Democracy (ISD) to co-participate as an international election observer in the upcoming legislative and municipal elections of January 18 and the presidential in March 15, 2009 in El Salvador.
Salvadorans in the World team will be led by Mario Jose Ramirez from Canada, Ramon Villalta from San Salvador and Juan Flores from Sweden.
The project also involves the Danish Cooperation, Sister Cities, the National Civic Roundtable, COMUS, Inter Civic Association for Local Development The Nonualcos and Local Development Committees.
The Election Observation Mission will follow-up on the specifics of relevant matters related to the elections, starting this Friday March 13th until the end of the presidential elections.
The project is voluntary and open to anyone who wants to participate from within and outside El Salvador as an election observer.
Guidelines to participate as an observer in the Mission
Arrival & Press Conference, Friday, March 13th
Training/Workshop at Iniciativa Social para la Democracia, Saturday, March 14th in San Salvador
Electoral Observation of the Presidential Election, Sunday, March 15th
Press Conference Findings of SEEM's Electoral Mission, Monday, March 16th
All those interested in joining the mission, they need to provide the following:
1. Name
2. Nationality
3. Passport number and nationality
4. Transportation, T-Shirt, Worshop and Materials fee: $100 payable to El Rescate/Convention
For those traveling with a low budget, SEEM with the support of FUCAD lodge with shower
(bring your own sleeping bag, limited capacity)
